Counselling & Psychotherapy
  • What is counselling and psychotherapy?

Counselling and psychotherapy are ‘talking therapies’ that involve you sharing your thoughts and feelings with a professional person who is specially trained to listen, who can help you improve your emotional well-being.  Unlike talking to friends or family, a counsellor or psychotherapist does not offer opinions or tell you what to do.  They listen without judgement and help you see things in a new light.

  • Who is counselling and psychotherapy for?

Counselling can help with a wide range of problems that many of us struggle with in our everyday lives.  If you’ve experienced a relationship break-up, job stress, bereavement, anxiety, depression, comforting eating, poor self-esteem and lack of confidence, or similar problems, then counselling and psychotherapy may help you.

  • How can I benefit from counselling and psychotherapy?

Our aim is to provide you with ways of thinking, feeling, acting and ‘being’ that help you cope long after counselling has ended. Clients we have worked with say counselling has made them feel in control of their life, no longer a victim, free from old patterns of thinking or behaving, able to make choices, as well as feeling valued and listened to. We work short term and long-term (covering a few weeks or many months), and are bound by a professional code of ethics.
